Show quick diff does not work

Strangely one very nice feature of Eclipse, the "show quickdiff" does not
work in EPIC-manged buffers. It works fine in other buffers, but when I
edit perl code, it does not work if line numbers are shown too. Is this
a known bug? Is there a workaround to show both line numbers and the quickdiff?
I am using EPIC 0.3.12 under Eclipse 3.1.0 under Linux.
